F, G, H, L, R, W for the fanfic ask! :D

Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
This is part of the reason I’ve taken so long to reply, haha. I’ve gone through my fic to try and find something that stands out. However I’ll go for this one.

“Take it back! True love is beautiful and special and magical!” Raymond insists, “It’s butterflies in your stomach, it’s looking at them and knowing there’s nobody else like them in the whole wide world, it’s doing little things just to see them smile. It’s the most wonderful thing in the world!” from Lenchanted.

Part of why I went for this is because Valentine’s day. The main reason though is how Ray describes love. It’s sweet and idealistic, yes, however if you read the fic, you’ll spot that Ray made a music box to make Lisa smile and in turn make Len smile, that him doing so gave Len a hint of butterflies, and the final line in the fic is ‘this guy is one of a kind’. I knew I wouldn’t manage to write a full AU of the film, but I hopefully managed to get enough of a hint about where things could go with that one piece of dialogue.

Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
Always in order. I’m a sucker for that kind of thing. I’ll make notes about what I want to write next, occasional dialogue pieces but mostly it’s in order. I end up too confused otherwise.

How would you describe your style?
Weird. A little overly romantic, and pure emotional goop a lot of the time, but also a bit manic and cracky as well. I’m a bit of an odd writer at times.

How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
It depends on the fic, tbh. If I’m not 100% happy with the premise and such, or if it’s been a struggle to write, then I tend to over edit and obsess. Colour Me In was a difficult one to edit and write, so I spent a good few days on that one. If it’s one that’s been easy to write, I tend to spellcheck and fling it online within an hour of finishing, which is shocking. I need a happy medium.

Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
Weirdly, not particularly? I tend to be more influenced by the performances of the characters on the shows or in the movies, than by authors and such. I actually, amazingly, don’t read a great deal of things that aren’t fic. That said, there’s probably a level of Joss Whedon in my writing, tbh. I kill a lot of people, and I think I’m funnier than I am.

Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?
I like something sort of in between. Too specific and I wonder why the prompter isn’t writing it themselves, too general and I don’t really know where to go. That said, I do enjoy the prompts on the prompt fic memes etc. The dialogue ones and such, they’re always fun.
