Movie buff ask: 67, 68, 69, 70.

A movie that started a passion for you?
Do you mind if I direct you here for that? Haha.

A movie that sparked an interesting conversation?
The first one to come to mind is Steve McQueen’s Hunger. I watched it with my best friend, and up til this point, we’d only really watched silly films together. However after that, things changed. I remember discussing the film with her, after we managed to talk again, and we were just completely blown away by what we’d seen. There was much discussion of the brilliant single take conversation between Sands and Father Moran, which was unlike anything we’d seen. Big game changer.

The main movie you remember from your childhood?
So, when my sister and I were kids, we went to my Nana’s for school holidays. I remember vividly one school holiday in which my sister, who is younger than me and therefore always got her way, particularly loved Matilda. And by particularly loved, I mean she watched it on a near constant loop for two solid weeks. I still haven’t watched it since I was about 10 or 11, because I feel like I’ve seen it too many times.

The first movie you saw on it’s opening night?
I think it was the first Pirates of the Caribbean - though technically I think I saw a preview of that. Midnight-wise, I think it was either Iron Man 3 or Star Trek Into Darkness. I’m not sure what the first I saw on opening day was, I see a lot then haha.
