Well aside from the vicious cow who insisted on texting through the first hour of the film, then got annoyed when we asked her to stop because “I’ve paid for this seat” - as if we hadn’t, Beauty and the Beast was a joy.

As I mentioned in my long ridiculous post yesterday, I wasn’t expecting a film that was perfect and better than the original. I just wanted something sweet, and romantic that stood alongside in the way the Broadway show does.

It was exactly what I was after, romantic, magical, charming, inspiring. I was giddy throughout, could feel myself grinning. I wasn’t laughing, I was giggling like a little kid. Yes, there were a few tears but not as many as I thought.

Overall I’m absolutely delighted, and I look forward to watching it again and again!
