New Legion theory.

It’s set in modern day, and everything is in David’s head, and he’s genuinely fighting his own mind. (Like those of us with mental illnesses do every day).

Because unless I’m mistaken, Amy asked if she could send an email in the last episode. There was also a touch screen on the coffee machine as well. This show seems way too clever to make ‘mistakes’ like that.

Also if it’s set in the 80’s, then Charles would have been in his mid-40’s (he’s listed as 24 on the First Class credits) and David is supposed to be in his early 30’s.

Whereas if it was set around now, David would have been born in the mid-80’s, so still remembered enough about the 80’s to create this world around him, and Patrick Stewart Dad would make more sense.

All the characters around him are his split personalities, the powers also ones he possesses, and when he’s not on screen, they’re in control of his body. (Like in Split).

Or maybe I’ve completely missed something again, and this is just weird “Marvel time”, where nothing makes sense. (That wouldn’t explain Oliver missing the sixties and having been gone for 20 something years though!)
